S-1855 THE MARSH-CHRISTIE HOUSE
254 Boulder Street, Nevada City, California
This outstanding Victorian Italianate Style home was built
by pioneer Nevada City lumberman Martin Luther Marsh in
1873. His design was taken from Sloan’s “The Model Architect”, a Victorian pattern book published in 1852. Restored by Marsh’s granddaughter Lucille Marsh Christie and
James Christie in 1954, the property was acquired by The
American Victorian Museum in 1975 for use as an exhibit
house. Open by reservation through the Museum.
