The Times: of Friday says; There
is a spot, just outside the townsite’ of
North San Juan, northeast of sthe
liberty pole, called the ‘Lovers,
Leap.” The origin of the name is as

on a visit to friends; that he remained here for a few weeks and became
enamored of a San Juan girl, ‘with
whom he took moonlight strolls on

Judgment Suspended.
In the case of T. M. Dickman, the
17-year-old boy who stole a horse at
Grass Valley, Judge Walling yesterday
morning suspended judgment and
remanded him for sixty days to the

The Grass Valley Union: of yesterday says:. The breaks ‘in the South
Yuba Canal were completed on Thurs‘day evening, and yesterday a full head

mines that use water-power in this
district, and all the miners who had
been laid-off for several days, were ordered to report. for duty last night,and
working full-handedagain. There was
a break in the Idaho-pipe line yesterday, but it was only a temporary interruption.

amount due upon said promissory note, as
follows, to-wit : The principal sum of $4,700
with interest thereon from April 26th, 1886

in case such proceeds are not sufficient to
