The proprietors of the Nevada Foundry have lately made additions ta their establishment; and are fully prepared to” exécute any kind of iron work, from a screw to the largest size steam engine or quartz mill, and at San Francisco ___ prices, thus saving time and_ the expense of freight from the Bay. The work sent out from. this city has always given good satisfaction, both in quality and price; and we hope that mill men, and others in this county who have iron work to do, will remember to patronize home industry, instead of sending orders, for commodities which they can get just as well at home, to San Francisco or the “East. This rule is also applicable to all other kinds of business. If we would see our city thrive and iraprove, citculate the money in our county and towns, as much as possible, and not send it off to build up distant cities and towns at the expense of our own. : . Rare Homicide at Sweetiland. J On Monday night a boy named John Moore, aged 18 years, shot John Rogers at Sweetland; Bridgeport township, blowing the top of . — his head off and killing him instantly.” The circumstances, as we learn them, are these: Young Moore, who lives with his mother, caught Rogers in her bedroom, some two weeks ago, and ran him out of the house without ~his clothing. At that time young Moore warned Rogers that if he came * to the house again he would kill him. Since then, young Moore and his little brother have been on the watch, andon Tuesday night the younger One saw Rogers crawling through the window of the house, and notified his brother, who shot at him with a shot gun, the whole charge taking effect in his head and literally tearing _ the top of it off. We understand that the parties -have heretofore. borne a good reputation in the neighborhood, except that Mrs. Moore has fora year past been addicted to drinking. The -affair caused _considerable—excitement—inthe vicinity, but the boy seems to have the sympathy of the community. We understand that the father ‘and grown sister of the young man . White's Specialty for this aggravating complaint, has been thoroughly tested by thousands who have beén _benefitted-by it, and are willing to testify to its. efficacy. It warrants a permanent cure, if tried faithfully. Col. Chas. H. From the Congregationalist (Boston.) In this age of fast things, our people make no nice distinctions, but whether their occupation be walking, riding, working, reading, or eating, they do them all with a rush; consequently we are the mos: dyspeptic people in the world. As it is too late to remedy the cause in our own cases, the best thing to be done is to find some way to change the effect, and this can be done by WHITE’s SPECIALTY FOR DYsPEPsia, which from pure merit and virtue alone is fast overtaking, and bids fair to exceed in its sale, all the old popular medicines of the day. ‘ ‘ Prirreron, Mz., April 17, 1872.
