City Convention, Austin, which was held
on the 12th inst.. Harry Harrington, fore
merly of this city, was nominated for Police
~ Judge, and Charley Maltman was chosen one
‘of the Central Committee. The Conyention
was addressed by James Churchman, Esq.
The Democrats—God save the mark—held
~their-Convention on the 3th inst. George
S. Hupp was chairman. A. Casamayou was
‘a candidate for Recorder. Harsey Mills
Was uominated for Alderufan and John
‘Grimes was elected a member of the Central
“ ‘Committee. :

The Trustees of the city of Nevada, do ordam
as follows : 7
Sec. 1. It shall be the duty of the city Treasurer te-receipt for ell monies due-and accruing to
thecity, or which are by law rvquired to be paid
to him, or into the ty Treasury.:_and to pay
and disburse the same On ordefs issued by. the
Board of ‘Trustees, sigmed by the clerk and pres+tdent-of the Beard. Heshall keep a fair and aceurateaccount ofall “monics by him received,

Their statements were somewhat contradictory—both showed-provoeation: Yeaterday
morning they were re-arrested and held to
answer upon the charge of unlawfully draws
ing and using deadly weapons. They were
examined upon the second charge yesterday
and fined, including costs, $19 apiece.—
