member ef'the company, traced the ledge

of sulpherete . and a.considerable amount of .
free gold. “The sulphurets were tested at
Maltman’s works and assayed ae
$200 and $300. The ledge isa foot and a

a pump immediately and sink the shaft down

of the kind ever produved in the State. — .
They have Rochette, the best clown ever
in this State. H.C: Lee and family, Julia
Morgan the equestrienne, who appears as
“Mazeppa,” and many other artists: Lee

and will doubtless have every seat taken tonight. Let all lovers of fun be on hand.
Our Fréxcn Crrizexs.—We neglected .
to mention-in‘our account of the obsequies :
on Wednesday, our French citizens. They .
marched usder their national fag which was
draped in mourning, and all Frenchmen who
reside in this vicinity, except four, joined {
in Procession.
~ SACRILEGE.—We “learn th that some miscreant stole the drapings and: funeral decorations from the buildings on Mill street,
Grasa ‘Valley, on Wednesday night. The
contemptible wretch who could engage in
such sacrilege would rob a graveyard, and if
discovered should not be hala =
in the community.
“Funeria OBSEQUIES.”—A: correspondent cuntends that. the phrase “funeral obeequigs” is sanctioned by the best authoritiges—we suppose by the ave anthorities

for'nothing.”” Webster, ae pretty’ fair
authority, says auengnics are ‘funeral rites
ep tne pH ” From this it would
appear that “funeral obsequies” i is improper.
