PRuSPECTING.—We notice that since the
interest is being taken by miners in prospecting for quartz. The ¢ustom mills are
“kept busy crushing rock for the new
ledges, and new claims are being opened ev.
ery day. Little knots of men may be seen
upon the streets every day, examining, with
magnifying glesses, specimens of rock taken
from the latest‘strike.” The developments
resulting from this prospecting shows that
there are yet many valuable leads in the hills
around this city, unworked.
WE understand that the Board of Trustees passed a resolution at ‘their last meeting, requesting the citizens of Nevada to
meet and nominate'a ticket for the charter
day of May. The ticket the City Trustees
wish ‘nominated consists of five Trustees,
“freasurer and Assessor. No nomination
’ for Marshul will take tee
SaLe or Minine Cuams. We under" pftand that the extensive mining claims of W.
H. Beck at North Bloomfield have been
sold to R. C. Black and that the latter gen.
‘Geman will commence “washing” next
. week. Mr. Beck will, we are informed,
soon leave for the Atlantic States.
Tae EXAMax Arion. —The County Board
of Examination will meet atthe High School
room in this city on the 3d of May, and remain in session three days. All applicants
for certificates to teach, must be.in attendance during the entire session of the Board.
Teachers who hold temporary certificates,
and all whose certificates expire within three
“months, are ‘required to be present at the éx‘«@mination. All teachers and trustees in the
county, and others interested‘are invited to
be present.
