The Sunday Schools.
Rev, J. W. Stump and John W.
Hinds, who represented Nevada in the
State Sunday School: Convention, feturned to this city om Friday. They
speak of the gathering as the most enthdsiastic as well as the largest of Sunday School meetings ever’ held on this

Preston & Fairchild are fitting up
their store on the corner of Broad and
Pine streéts, under the TRANSCKIPT office, and will :move their stock on the
15th of May. They are fitting up in

The mania tor skating rinks still continues in this "seetion. A new floor is
being laid in. the bal at. Hunt’s Hill,
anda rink will be opened there the
last of the present week: Mr. .Holbrook, of this city, will leave in a day
or two for Michigan Bluffs, to open a
rink at that place.
The Champion skate.
George Charch; of this city, received
orders last week for sixty pairs of skates
ot his*invention. On Friday night a
tink was opened at Caniptonville, and
25 pairs of hig skates were, put.on the
floor. He has orders ahead faster than
he can fill them. Those who have
tried Charch’s skate pronounce it excellent, , i

as compensation for his official services the
