made application to Judge Caldwell
for a writ of éérpus in the casé
of John--Lyons, sent down from

: A Severe Storm. “4
On Monday night, the severest
thunder and hail storm ever known
since the white settlements were ¢s‘tablished, visited this locality. For
more than an hour and a half, the
thunder kept up a continues rattling
and hail stones half an inch in diameter fell. The storm was accompanied
by most vived flashes of lightning.
It is suggested that the ‘‘Rattling of
Heavens Artillery’ indicated rejoicingin the other realm at the end of
the last Legislature.
