Powper Usen—Ricu Diecincs.—A blast of “three hundred kegs of powder was let off in the Golden Gate claims at North San Juan one day last week. These caine, as wellas all others ip that vicinity require an immense amount of powder to blast the éément whichis very hard, and cannot be worked in any other way.’ This blast shook the whole town, and ina house near by,a man was thrown completely out of his chair, while reading a paper. Considerable damage was done by the breaking up of pipes, hose, flume, &c., in the diggings. Scarcely a piece of this cement éan be picked up in the Gelden Gate claims but what is filled with gold. . ia QUARTZ.—We understand that several very fine ledges of quartz have been discovered on and near Brush Creek during the past few weeks. One of them is very rich indeed and, the ledge is extraordinarily large. Uutil during the past few months prospectors have never visited this oversight. It isa locality where croppings areseen very plainly in all the bills around the creek. If otner ledges are found as good as the last there will be quite alittle a little town on Brush Creek before long. [ Goop CLEAN, Up.—The Frengh~Cempany run of ten days. the sum of twenty-seven thousand and five hundred dollars. The bricks of gold were at Furth’s store at North San Juan on Monday last. ° Thie claim has been paying at this rate for » long time.— There are ne better hydraulic diggings in Corral.\ HEAvY BLastT.—Crall & Co., owhers of the American Co’s. claims at Sebas. topol, are preparing tu putin their claims a blast of six hundred kegs of powder. The cement, which is very rich requires to be loosened and broken up by blasting, after which it is very easily run off. These claims have been paying on an average of $1,000 per day, during the whole season. ANOTHER BLast.—The Knickerbocker Company at North San Juan put off a blast of 200 kegs of powder last ‘Thursday, whieh tore up the ground for a great distance.— These claims are also very rich, being the tame kind of cement as that of the Golden Gate and American Companies, mroneyBIRCHVILLE.—From this part of vur PRICES. : : Mixtewetivig TUS s so ccccvcscceseccscoscccce 00000050 county, we learn of the unparalleled pres-. extracting for Children.. No claims in the county pay more regularly than those in and around Birchville. Tue old Star Company's claims, on San Juan Hill, now owned by the Middle Yuba Canal and Water Company, which have not been worked since the year 1861, were started up a few weeks ago. We extend to them a hearty “welcome home.” PLAYED OuT.—Some dozen of our citizens, a few months ago, contemplated leaving for Montana.’ While they were waiting for the rush. to commence, they becaine interested in quartz in and near this city, and have concluded now that there are better leads here than in Montana. ACard from the Trustees of the.Nevada Theatre Company. Tn the Nevada Gazette of March 22nd, there appeared under the head of -‘Beware of Greenbacks,"’ a fabrication of contemptible, dirty lies against the Trustees of the Nevada Theatre Company, over the signature of Julius Dreyfuss. He save that he com. menced a suit against the Theatre Company -before Justice Palmer and that the ‘Trastees paid him in Greenbacks In reply to the above, Julius Dreyfuse never commence: suit against the Theatre Company in. Through respeet for Julius Dreyfuseand his Greenback grievance, we will help him to more fully explain the case. J. Dreyfuss gold a Bill of $1900 against the Theatre Company to man by the name of Staley. Now it appears, Staley, the naughty fellow. hag paid the unsuspecting Juliusin Greenbacks.
