The Overland Star Minstrels will

Marysville and other places where
they have appeared, they are highly
spoken of, and they have most excellent music. The performers are
onginal, and are first class delineators of negro minstrelsy. Among

_antonia, the greatest harp player in
the world. They have one of the
best quadrille bands in the State, a
good caller, and will give at the end
ofthe performance a social dance.

will be held at the Theatre to-morrow
night, for the purpose of nominateing one delegate from the Township.

inst. The Primary will be held under the Porter Primary Law to elect
Delegates to the State Convention
which’ meets at Sacramento on the

purchased by Gashwiler and others.
This mine was last worked by the
Eagle Co., of Gonnecticut, of which
Pattee was Superintendent, but it
has not been worked for some time.

Yesterday several large flocks of
pelicans, bound north, passed over
this city. At the gap of Sugar Loaf
they became bewildered, and circled
around for some time, no doubt considering whether to stop at the reseryoirs of the South Yuba Canal Company. «They are probably leaving
the State, because they were not included in the sweeping game law
passed by the last Legislature.

Shanty Removed.
An old shanty adjoining the Pennsylfania Engine House was torn
down yesterday afternoon. The lot
upon which it stands was purchased
by the company, at Administrator’s
sale, and the boy’s made it lively for
the. old shell yesterday afternoon.

plant it in grass.
Summer Drinks. v :
John Senner, of this city, is going
into the manufacture of spruce beer
+ and ginger pop, for the Summer
trade. He proposes to commence
work in a few days.
Burglar Caught.
A burglar was caught at Sweetland,
yesterday morning. He went through
‘the hotel, and some marked coins,
and burglar’s tools were found upon
his person.

In the precincts of Nevada, Grass Valley
and San Juan, tht Polls will be open from
to 8 o’clock P. M., andin all other precincts
above named the Polls shall be open trom
7 to 9 o'clock P. M,
Each voter shall ba entitled to vote for
one candidate as a Delegate from the county
at large, and one Delegate from each ‘Township with-the exception of Nevada and Grass
Valley, in which ‘Townships voters will be
entitled to vote for two Township Delegates.
Voters will use written ballots, designating the candidate voted for as the Delegate at large and for the Township Deletes.
The test for voters at such Primary Elections shall. be:
First—That the person offering to vote is
a legally qualified voter of the district.
Second—That he yoted for Newton Booth
for Governor. 3 .
Third—That he will support the nominees of the National Republican Convention
to be held at Philadelphia on the Sth of
dune, A. D. 1872.
All returns to be certified to by the Supervisors of each precinct and promptly forwarded to A. H. Parker, Secretary of the
County Central Committee, at Nevada City.

Supervisors are referred to the Statutes of
1865-6, p 438.
