TEMPERANCE MEETING.~-On Tuesday evening Rev. Mr. Anthony of Grass
Valley, addressed the Washingtonians
of this city, at the Baptist Church.
Quite a large number were out, and
fifteen or twenty names weye added to
the rolls of the Society, increasing the
membership to 144. At the conclusion
of the address Mr. Anthony received
the thanks of the meeting, and it was
decided to hereafter hold the regular
meetings. of the Society on the first
Tuesday of each month. =

farmers in the foot hills want more

favorable, and there is a prospect, that
