State extensive preparations are being made
for celebrating the recent victories of our
troops, but as yet nothing has been done by
the people of Nevada. It is time something
was béing done. The news of addititional
victories_isbeing given with every flash
over ‘the -wites and the rebellion is well
nigh its end. Every. village and town in
the land should resound with joy. The miland are going to have # grand ball at night,
By that time new laurels will shave been
won by Union troops, and we will have additional cause for rejoicing. Why can’t-the
citizens co-operate with the military and
make the 18th of April a day of general rejoicing on account of the victory over trea.

Tre DAHL LepGe.—The Rough and
Ready quartz mill is now at work upon rock
taken from the Dahl ledge, which is located
on Bunker Hill, near Rough and Ready;
The ledge is two feet thick, and very easily
worked. By tunneling into the hill from its
base, they get 250 feet backs. It is thought
that the rock will pay at least twenty eoliars
to the ton. \
THE Licut, GuaRD.—The Nevada Light
Guard now has more than one hundred men
enrolled. On last Friday night sixty members answeréd to roll call and nine names . ”
