THE CHINESE Scuoo.—On Wednesday evening about. twenty-five Chinamen attended the School at. the Methodist Church, and were instructed, in the English language. ‘They take great interest in learnin g, many of them who haVe only. attended two or three times being able to spell words of two and three letters. THe-County Ja1,—Eight prisoners are now confined in the county jail, and two of them only are charged with grave. offences; namely: incest and highway robbery. The number ‘is now smaller than at any time in the past two years. The average per weck has been during that time from ten to sixteen; Cot. H. H. Raymond, long known as a citizen of this place, died at the Occidental Hotel, San Francisco, on Sunday the 21st of March, 1869. —_-EuREKA MINE.—The result of the last run of two weeks from the Eureka, exclusive of sulphurets, was $23,000.— The sulphurets yielded about $7,000 more.
