On Sunday -afternoon, at Grass Valley, a terrible affray occurred at a boarding louse kept by Matthew Rogers, on Main street, and Peter Daws one of the boarders. It is reported that jealousy was the cause of the affray. Both parties had been drinking freely, and there are several _yersions as to the origin of the difficulty. The row occurred in the kitchen, and during the scuffle. Rogers was struck by Daws with a pick. The point of the pick entered below the left shoulder and passed into the lungs several inches. The wounded man ran through the house before he knew he was struck, andhe fell in the yard. His injuries are so severe that it is thought he cannot recover. <a Township Nominations.
