The Festival and Concert given at the Theatre on Saturday evening Jast, was well attended, and passed off pleasantly. vocal and instrwmental, was well rendered, and conferred great credit on the ladies and gentlemen who took partin the Concert. The tableax also were excellent, and all present expressed themselves highly pleased. The last piece, ‘Good Night,” a duett, by Mrs. M. S. Deal, and Miss Mattie Deal, was prevented from being sung by un alarm of fire, ~which caused considerable consterna“tion, and in a short time emptied the Theatre. The concussion broke the neck yoke and drove the sharpened end into the shoulder of the off horse, besides breaking kis leg. The injuries were such that be was killed soon after. We learn that juries that will render him entirely useless. We believe Mr. Clark himself received no damage. Mr Draper was found in the ruad when the. stage came up and was brought into town, Pires, oe On Saturday night, just as Sargent -had about concluded his speech, the fire bells cetamenced ringing an alarm, and in a few minutes it was discovered that the foundry of Thom & Allan-was on fire. The biggest part of the roof wasina blaze, but water was turned on soon erough to quench the flames before much dam~ age was done. On Sunday morning, about 6 o’clock, people were startled from their sleep by another alarm. __.'This_timeit—proved-to-beinthe}building oceupied by Antoine Tam and Chas. Ferrand, on Pine street. Water was also got on this fire seon enough to quench the flames. The water did more damage than the fire oe Accident at the Provideace Mine. On Saturday night lust, there was a slight cave at the Prcvidence mine, which resulted. in mashing the nose of Dick Williams, and almost . Severing it from theface. Mr. Williams was working in the mine when a heavy stone and some lase dirt became detached frem above, striking him on the nose. The wound is a painful one, though mot necessarily serious. ~ Ga iat a re a Athletic Club. We understand the young men of this city have taken measures to erganize an athletic club. The enterprise is a good one, and those desirous of developing their muscular powers should join at once. On Saturday night last, between the Theatre, and the junction of East and West Broad streets, a package of napkins, three red and five white, wrapped up in -brown paper.
