As soon a6 an article purporting to be of
utility has been tested, and its merits indorsed by public opinion, unprincipled parties endeavor to replenish their depleted
purses by counterfciting, and substituting a
spurious for the genuine article, Some
thue since, mercury, ii tls disguise of pills,
powders, &c., was given forall diseases. of
the stomach and liver, while quinine was
‘freely administered for the chills. At
length Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters made its
advent, and.an entire new systemof healing
was inadgurated.— 'The beneficial effects of
this valuable preparation were at once
acknowledged, and mineral poisons suffered
to sink into that obscurity to-which an
enlightened age has consigned them. ‘Fhere
have been many spurious bitters palmed
upon the community, which, after trial,
have been found utterly worthléss, while
Hostetter’s has proved a blessing to thousands, who owe to it their restoration to
health.
For many years we have watched the
steady progress of Hostetter’s Stomach
Bitters in public estimation, and its benificent effects as a cure for all complaints
arising from the stomach of # morbid
nature, and we are free to say that it can be
relied upon as a certain relief and remedy.
Its proprietors have made the above preparation, after years of careful study and sitting, and are now reaping the reward claimed by this valuable specific, and which they
so richly merit. Itis the only preparation
of the kind that is reliuble in all cases, and
it therefore demands the attention of the
afflicted.

1840. 1871.
The “ Par KiLier” may justly be styled
the great medicine of the worid, for tare
is no revion of tue globe into which it has
not found its way, aud been largely used
and higuly prized. Moreover, there is no
clime tu which it has not proved to be well
adapted for the cure of a Cynsiderable variety of discuscs; it isa speedy and safe
remedy fur burus, scalds, cuts, bruises,
wounds, and various other injuries, as weil
as for dysentery, diarrnc@a, aud bowel complaints yeneraiiy, it is adinirably suited for
every rave of such on the face of the globe.
It ie a very significant fact, that motwithStanding tue long period of ycars thut tha
“Pain Ailer” bas been before the world,
it has heycr lost one wuit of its popularity,
but, on the contrary, the cali for it bas
steadily increased fru its first discovery*
and at no previous time has the demand for
it been 80 great, ur the quantity uiade been
so large, as to-day. Sac
Another signiticant fact is, that nowhere
has the Pain aiier ever been M_higher repute, or been mivre generally used by famities and individuals, than it has beenhere
at home, where it was rst discovered and
introduced. ‘fat tae Puin Killer will continue to be, waat we have styled it, THE
