Long has resigned his place _on the Republican ticket, and his resignation has béén accepted by the County Central Committee. As yet-no name has been suggested as a candidate for District Attorney. ' A brillant meteor was ‘observed vo a number of our citizens on Monday evening last. It was first observed in the zenith, was about four inches in diameter,-and had a brilliant white light.
