School Seal:
. The school Trustees have procured
a seal for the use of the publi¢
schools of this city. They propose
to give diplomas to all pupils who obtain third grade. certificates, . The
‘seal represents young Washington
caught in the act of cutting his father’s tree, it looks like a cédar, and
“according to the seal the cutting orcurred near sui vise or sun set. If
the seal be correct, the young man
was canght in the act and itis no
wonder he ‘acknowledged the corn.’?
Around the outer edge o* the seal is
inscribed ‘Washington High School,
Nevada City, California.”
