_ The cage of Juhn Brown, charged
with grand larceny in stealing clothing &e., at Truckee, came upin the
‘County Court yesterday. As there
_ was some duubts about his sanity,
the jury was empanelled, and after
hearing evidence, decided he was insane,

Great preparations have been made
‘to bring the Democratic party of
Grass Valley township to this city
to-night, All the stages, wagons,
buggies, carts, etc. have been engaged to bring the valuable treasure
to the county seat, aud we should
not be surprised if they nambercd
'. three or four hundred. We are glad
they are ¢. ming, for this city will
get a glorous benefit, and the money
market will be easy after their de-}parture, for they are the fellows that
spend their money freely. The oceasion ef this great outburst is that
speeches are to be made to-night by
Hon. Wm, irwin, Gen. Je, Hamiltom, and other speakers. The other
#peakers are understood to be Hon.
Wm. Watt, A. B. Dibble, Esq., and
Hon: Niles Searls,the old ‘war horses
of the Democracy of this county.
Everybody hereabouts will attend
-the meeting, i.respective of theties they belong to.
Badly Bare.
The San Juan Times says a man
named Jones, while engaged in haulng logs last week to T-womley’s saw
mill, near Freeman's crossing, in
Yuba County, received very severe
bruises to one of his legs by coming
it contact with the front wheels of
the log truck. The wounded man
was taken to his home near Nevada
