dam in the Yuba river, costing not
less thao: half a million of dollars,
and the companies had pledged the
amount and work was ready to be
commenced ; that threats are now
being made if*the miners do anything of the kind. suit will be commenced against them, asking the
courts to prohibit their building the
dams ; that the whole value of the
lands already destroyed would on y
equal one month’s gross receipts of
the mines; that the war against the
miners is malicious; that if the
trouble was settled there would “be
an end to the employment of shyster penny-whistle lawyers, and
