*‘Aw Act to provide bonds for completing the
Deaf, Dumb and Blind Asylum” approved April
27th. 1863, will be submitted to the qualified
‘electors of the state for ratification, in accordance with section 12 of said Act, at said General
Election to be held on Wednesday, the.2nd of
September next ; those voting for the sanie shall
have written or printed on their ballots for
state officers, the words, ‘For Asylum Buildin
Act”’—and those voting nst the same sha
have written or printed on their ballots the
words. ‘Against Asylum Building Act.” .
& Sec. 29 of the statute relative to Elections as
amended, vide statutes 1863, page 745 reads as
follows: @
See. 29° If such person shall insist that he is
entitled. to vote, ard the challenge shall not be
withdrawn, he shali not be entitled to vete unless he take the following oath, to be administered by the Inspector or one of the Judges, viz:
*-You do swear—or affirm as the case may be—
that yeu are a citizen of the United States. that
you are of the age of twenty-one years, according to the best of your knewledge and belief, :
and that you have resided in this stete six
months next preceding this election, ard that
you have not voted this day.’’ :
Upon taking which oath, he shall be entitled
to vote forall state offices, and if he offer to vote .

Sec. 104 of sald statute as amended vide stat
utes 1863, page 398 reads as follows:
