OTICE is hereby given that a General
Election will be held on Wednesday
the -Sécond day of September next,
throughout Nevada county at which the following officers are to be elected, and. *+An Act to
provide bonds for completing the Deaf, Dumb
and Bliad Asylum,’ approved April 27th, 1863,
is to be submitted to the qualified electors of the
state for ‘ratification :

**An Act to provide bounds for completing the
Deaf, Dumb and Blind Asylum” approved april
27th. 1863, will be submitted to the qualified
electors of the state for ratification, in accordance with section 12 0f said Act, at sail General
Election t6 be held on Wednesday, the 2nd of
September next ; those voting for the same shall
have written or printed on their ballots for
state officers. the words, ‘For Asylum Buildin
Act’’—and those voting against the same sbal
have written or printcd on their ballots the
words. *-Against-Asylum Building Act.°’
» Sec’29 of the statute relative to Elections as
amended, vide statutes 1863, page 745 reads as
follows: i
Sec. 29 Ifsuch person shall insist that he is
entitled to vote, ai d th: challenge shall not be
withdrawn, he shali not be entitled to vote une .
less he take the following oath, to be administered by the Inspector or one of the Judges, viz:
*-You do swear—or affirm as the case may be—
that yeu are a citizen of the United States. that
you are. of the age of twenty-one years, accordlig to thebestof your knowledge and belief,
and that you have resided in this state six
months next preceding this election, and that
you have not voted this day.”’
Upon taking which oath, he shall be entitled
to vote for ali stateoffices, and if he offer to vote
torany district county or township officer he shall
in additioa thereto, make oath that he has reej
did in such district, county or tewnship—as the
ease may be—thirty days. ;
Sec. 10+ of sald statute as amended vide stat
utes 1863, page 393 reads as follows:

and indorsed ‘Election Keturns,*”’ and be directed and delivered or sent by the Insprctor to
the County Clerk of the county in whieh the
election is held, and the said ballots shall be kept
for at least six mouths by said Clerk; and i
any person be of the opinion that the vote oany precinct-shall not have been correctly counted, he may appear on the day appointed for the
