INTERESTING CORRESPONDENCE.—
The Sacramento. Ynion of yesterday
publishes a correspondence between
Sargent and Coffroth, candidates for
Congress, in reference to a joint discussion. Mr. Sargent, noticing the report
of Coffroth’s speech before the, Democratic Convention, writes that he would
meet Coffioth with pleasure, and designated Sacramento as a proper place, and
early in September as the time. Mr. Coffroth replies and aceepts the invitation to
meet Sargent, but not until October, as
business considerations will not allow
iim to do so before. Sargent writes a
second letter, ex pressing bis willingnéss
to meet Coffroth after the two first
weeks in October, and leaving Coffroth
to fix the date. Unless Coffroth backs
out, the discussion will probably take
place about the middle of October.
