There is no occasion for the Union to find fault. with the mo_ ~~ tives of the Supervisors in postponing action. One of the largest circuses in the country was when the petition came before the Board advertised to give three days’ performances inthe county, aud the advertising was done with the: manager’s full knowledge and expectation that the lcense would be $100 aday. Tocut down the license this term would be just like giving that circus $225 out of the county treasury. The Transcript thinks with most everybody else that the license is too high for most tent shows, but it does noi think that the present is the propco er time to make a reduction. The Popular Monthly. Croffut, the lively lecturer and newspape! writer, tells of the four Felds, Cyrus W., David D., Stephen J. ‘and Henry M. Field. Laura C.
