As 800N 88 A “Article purporting to be ef utility has been tested, and its merits indorsed by public opinion, unprincipled parties endeavor to replenish their depleted purses by counterfciting, and substituting a spurious for the genuine article. Some time since, mercury, in the disguise of pills, powders, &c., was given-for all-disesses—of the stomach and liver, while quinine was freely administered for the chills. At was inaugurated. ‘The beneficial effects of acknowledged, and mineral poisons suffered to sink into that obscurity to which an enlightened age has consigned them. There have been many spurious bitters palmed upon the community, which, after trial, have been found utterly worthless, while Hostetter’s has proved a blessing to thousands, who owe to it their restoration ta health. For many years we have watched the steady progress of Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters in public estimation, and its benificent effects as a cure for all complaints arising from the stomach of a morbid nature, and we are free to say that it can be relied upon as a certain relief and remedy. Its proprietors have made the above preparation, after years of careful study and sitting, and are now reaping the reward claimed by this valuable specitic, and which they so richly merit. Itis the only preparation of the kind that is reliable in ajl cases, and it therefore demands the attention of the afflicted. PAIN KILLER. PERRY DAVIS & SON, PROVIDENCE, R. I., PROPRIETORS. 1840. 1871. The “ Pam Kitter” may justly be styled the great medicine of. the world, for there is no region of the globe into which it bas not found its way, ald been largely used and highly prized. Moreover, tucre is no clime to which it has not proved.to be well adapted for the cure of a considerable variety of diseases; it isa speedy and sate remedy for burns, s¢calds, cuts, bruises, wounds, and various other injuries, as Well as for dysentery, diarrnwa, and bowel comevery race of men on the face of the globe. it isa very significant fact, that notwithstanding the long period of yours that tha “ Pain Killer” bas been betwre the world, it has never lost one wuit of its popularity, but, on the contrary, the cali for it has steadily increased froin its first discovery‘ and at no previous time has the de:ngnd for it been so great, or the quantity nade been so large, as to-day. Another significant fact is, that nowhere has the Pain Kilier ever been in higher repute, or been more generally used by tamilies and mdividuals, than it has been here at home, where it was first discovered and introduced. That the Pain Killer will continue to be, what we have styled it, THE GREAT MEDICINE OF THE WORLD, there can not be the shadow of a doubt,—[ Providence Advertiser.
