aecept the nomination again, so ably filled. —
Mr. MeDonald is a true, loyal man, and will,
we have no doubt, becleeted by as large a
proportionate majority, when the peaple
come te vote, ws he received in the Convention which nowimated him. Mr. McDonald
isan ald resident of Columbia Hill, well
knows, and hignly esteerned by the people of
the district.

has been completed and is now open to the

now ready fur travel. Teamaters and othere can have an opportunity of teating thie
route to Virginia. Notolle will be charged

Tue Mernopist Caunci.—The Meth:
odist Church will be cowpleted and given in
charge of the Trustées on next Saturday
night, and on Sunday week it will be dedi«
cated. The dedicatory services will be con.
ducted by Bishop Clark. formerly editor of
the Ladies’ Repository. The new edifice
presents a handsome xppearance from the
outeide and is exceedingly neat on the interior.
The Methodist people, and the pastor, Rev
J B Hill. may wall be proud of the new
eburch. Only a emall sum is due upon the
building now, and by the day ef dedication
there will not be a cent of indebtedness on
the house.
ImMiGRANTS.—Large nembera of imm's=
grants are continaully coming into this State
from beyond the Rocky Mouutains. The
Reese River Reveille ‘says: “large traine
bound for Califoraia pass through Austin
daily.” Among those given in a recent list
published in that paper, are the following
persons bound fur Nevada city, Cal: J. L.
and W. L. Hart, James McMullen, James
Clarkson. Wm. Landrum, with four ox
teams, from Hardin county, Kentucky.
