Two men giving the names of Coleman and Howard were arrested at Reno for petit larceny, and a suspicion arose that they were Coleman and Hall the car robbers who escaped from the jail in th’s civyon the fourth of July. Detective Burke went to Reno to see them, and he says they Are not the escapes. District Attorney Gaylord stated yesterday that they were wanted in.this county for auother burglary committed at Truckee, and he pfoposes to have them brought here for trial as soon as their term at Reng has expired. The Marysville Appeal of Sunday publishes the following ia referenc? toa man who recently served out a teem in the jail at this city for obtainitig goods under false pretenses: Deputy Sheriff 'T. E. brought up from Wheat'and yesterday and lodged in the county jail a man named Alexander McCaw who is held to answer on a charge of burglary. It appeared on the examination before Justice Bray that clothes which were in Chase's bakery before 1t was burned down on the 24th instant had been found in the
possession of the prisoner since that ogcirience. It is belived that the prisoner first committed burglary and then set fire to the building, but there was no evidence of arson against-him, and he is not charged with that offense. ‘The prisoner is a brother to John McCaw of Indian Springs, a vespecteliiny worthy man.
