Dogs.—The number of worth leit curs ‘in
this town is becoming a very nuisance.—
They seem to belong to no one in particular,
but gather round butcher shops and hotel
kitchens, where they snarl and fight over
every bone that may be thrown out. These
dences, and will show fight if a woman undertakes to drive themaway. (Item. Hot
water is a very good application.) Their
nanie is “Legion” —they are of all colors
and descriptions, white, red and spotted—
long tailed, bob tailed and no tailed. It is

to be hoped that parents: and all others who
feel an interest in the subject will attend.

“Blaze” says it was sent to him as a present
from the Tycoon at Jeddo, and is known as
the Japanese pheasant. He says he intends
to run the bird as the short-haired candidate
