THe MCLELLAN MINE.—The “Mc~
Lellan mine is located on the ridge between Nevada ‘atid Baanerville, and is
owned by Findley and others of Grass
Valley. A shaft has been sank upon
this claim to the depth of ‘sixty feet,
coutaine a large quantity of sulphurets.
_ The quartz crushed from this mine did
mot yield much in free gold, but the
sulpliusets, we are informed, assay $1,400 to the ton.
Surr ror DamaGEs.—The case of
Latta vs Marker, for $250 damages sustained by a collision of Stages on the
Washington road, has been on trial for
two days before Justice Palmer, WilJiams & Johnson appearing for the the
prosecution and Judge Reardon for the
defense. The testimony for the prosecution was closed yesterday afternoon,
deen examined.
_ Postponzp.—The opening ball at
National Exchange Hotel, in this city,
has been postponed until the 10th of
December. By that time Messrs. Lan. caster & Hasey will have the new part

known as“Frenchy,” at work at Brittell & Gazendorfer’s saw mill at Coburn
Station, was caught by. his clothing,

and instantly drawn to the frame.
His left arm and left leg were mangled

to his heel, being torn in shreds, and
the bones stripped of quivering flesh.
