LOCAL MATTERS.
County Court, Dee. 10:—The special
Grand Jury came into Court yesterday
morving with a report, and were discharged.
Five cases were inyestigated’by the Jury.—’
Three true bille were found, and two igtioredOne indictment for muyder, and two for
“assault with intent to dogreat bodily harm.’

intent to dogrent bodily harm, was senteped

\ GREENBACKS AND Fines.— Yesterday
Jebo Keelerdorf was seiiteuced by the
County Court to pay a fine of $400, which
he tendered in greenbacks. Actihg. under
instructiuns from the Dietrict Attorney the
Cpunty Clerk refused to accept the notes
and Keetetdorf. was sent tothe county.jail.
A writ of habeas, corpus wus immediately
sued out by Judge Beiden and the defendant was brought before the County Court:
Judge Niles decided that the amount myst
be paid in coin and the defendant was res
manded to the custody of the Sheriff. The
fine whe afterwards paid in eon.
