Lancaster. and ~.Hasey, of the Nationa) Exchange ‘Hotel, in this city, on Tuesday night, was a grand success: There were about fifty couples _ present, representing the beauty and elite of the county. Noet-— withstanding the recent heavy sterm representatives were present from San Juan, Rough & Ready/You Bet ani other towns of the nty. A large number were no doubt prevented from attending’ by the inclement weather. The masic was the best that could be “obtained in the county, and this. is equivalent to saying it could not be beaten. The floor was in excellent condition, and\with the calling of Mr. Dickinson the egmpany could not help enjoying the dan The large dining hall when thrown Open to the guests, « presented a beautiful appearance, The tables, elegantly decorated with flowers, and loaded down with good things, would have excited an appetite in a dyspetic. We have never seen tables more profusely supplied with good things or more handsomely ‘decorated than on this occasion. The guests showed their appreciation by heartily partaking of this excellent supper, and ‘with one accord pronounced it “most excellent.” Messrs. Lancaster & Hasey may well feel proud in the assurance that those who attended. the opening bull were so well pleased. The dance continued as pleasantly after supper as before, and at a late hour the guests retired, fully satisfied with their: enjoy-ment, and only regreting that a larger number were not out'to participate in tle pleasure.
