they will not be able to “save their bacon” in attempting a pound delivery.
Their policy may be “penny wise” but
will turn out to be “pound foolish.”

is an energetic and live railroad man
and is around showing the people the
advantages of his route. He tells us
that there are no delays on the road
and that since its extension to Marysville its business, before large, is constantly increasing. The facilities for
making time and the accommodations
are improving every day, and the affairs
of the compeny are progressing finely.
CHance oF TimE—The Moore’s
Fat and Eureka stages will hereafter
leave the National Exchange Hotel on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. at 9 o’clock A. m. connecting with
the Grasa Valley stage. The stages
will return on alternate days. This
arrangement will cohtinue through the

THE VALLEJO Rovre.—Two daily
trains are now running out of Marysville over the Vallejo route. One leaves
at 6 a, M. and one at 1 Pp. . for SacraMento and San Francisco, reaching Sacramento in two und a-quarter and San
Francisco in five’ and a-half hours.
The running distance by _this royte to
San Francisco is 80 miles shorter than
any other. In a few days more the
arrangements will then ‘be completed
so that Cunningham & Reiley’s stages
from this city will connect with: the
afternoon train, and passengers will be
brought directly through, They can
then leave here at 6 o’clock and arrive
in San Farncisco at 7 Pp, M. The pasSengers coming up will reach Nevada
at 7 o’clock or three hours sooner than
now.
