It would require nine or ten columns of space, which at present cannot be spared. ARecorder. __ A Treasurer. es A City Clerk. . A Deputy City’ Clerk. A Marshal. _ The Board of Trustees have power _ to appoint: . A Poundmaster. Policemen. Superintendent of Streets. City Engineer. City Attorney. The Marshal, Assessor and Treasurer to be elected for two years. Board of Education elected for four year, andto have a clerk receiving sich salary as they may determine on, ; Board of Trustees, elected for four years, ' The Board of Trustees are allowed no aslary, except while acting as a Board of Equalization. The Treasurer retains one per cent: . on all monies he receives and pays out. Salaries of all other officers to ve fixed by the Board of Trustees. The Trustees have power to levy the following taxes : Street Poll Tax of $2 on each male inhabitant. Tax of $2 on each dog. Tax for General Fund, 40 cents. Tax for Street Fund, 30 cents. Tax for School Fund, £0 cents. Tax for Sewer Fund, 10 cents, The Trustues have power to collect @ license; to be fixed by the Board, on all and every. kind of bueiness.transacted, shows, exhibitions aod lawful games. _ The Trustees shall not create any debt in excess of the available money in the Treasury. If at any time the Trostees deem it necessary, to incor any indebtedness in excessof the money in the Treasury, they shall give notice of a special election to the voters. A two thirds vote must be in favor of incurpng euch indebtedness. The Trustees are empowered to o1der work upon the streets. The expense of such work. shall be assessed upon the lots and lands fronting thereon, each let or portion of a lot being separately assessed for the full debt thereof in proportion to the benefits upon the property to be benefited, sufficient to cover the totel expense of the work, provided that the Board of Trustees. may expend from the general Fund for said, purpose a gum not exceeding $100.0n amy one street in any ene year.
