The Alaska Mine. °
The Union. says the mine. never
looked as well as it does at present.
The new level. which is now being
opened shows a strong ledge, “both
north and south from the shaft, rich
infree gold and sulphurets. This
ledge, to all appearanee,'will go right
into the Bullion.ground, and it was
this belief that the new coubination shaft was sumk, to enable both
companies to work their claims
rough it. The location of the
shaft permits of the working of the
north end of.the Alaska and the
south end of. the Bullion. It has
now. been. decided -to"-commence the
sinking of a new shaft at once on .
the south end. of the Alaska location. .
The hoisting machinery used at the
old shaft, will be transferred to the
new one. .The work is tobe pushed .
with all diligence. A fine. lot / of!
rock is now. accumulating at the
dump of the combination, shaft, pre‘paratory to a crushing, which. will [
be made the first of January. .
