The members of the Congregational Church gave their Pastor a donation party on Wednesday evening. yet the Parsonage was crowded with members of the Church, and citizens friendly to the Pastor, Rev. J. Sims. After friendly greetings, and a s0cial interchange of. thought, the party sat down to a sumptuons repast, such as the ladies of that Church are distingyished for providing, the discussion of which, we infer, put the whole party in the: best.possible humor, for at its conclusion they as; tonished the host with a: present of the nive little sum of $675.. We suppose th® present was intended as . ’ a Christmas gift, but the friends anticipated the regular time. For aught we know, another similar purse may be forthcoming at the regular time, as the liberality of that congregation is becoming proverbial. Such proceedings speak well for Pastor and people.
