. CHRISTMAS AT THE CONGREGATIONAL
CuorcH.—This. ancient festival, so full of
delightful associations in all Christian minds,
will be observed with due solemnity:this
season. The Church will be decorated with
‘evergreens, there will be a Christmas sermon on Sabbath morning, in the evening a
Sunday School Concert, embracing winging,
recitations and addresses, and on Monday
night frait will be picled from a Christmas . ~
tree, which it is thought the children will
find very much to their taste. Such servi. 9008, bringing instruction and healthful plea,
sure to the hearts of young and old; *ill no
doubt be interesting te all who attend.

‘of a quartz ledge was made, hear Gold Flat,
and the parties set to work for the purpose
‘of prospecting their claim. After _twenty
tons of rock were taken out, the Secretary
fearing that 1t would not pay, levied and
collected an assessment, before the quartz
