me to make this statement.” For many years I
have been afflicted with that—fearful disease
known as Ms si pot peopel or Seminal weak
ness, the result of self-abuse, but till 1855 ex pe‘rienced but litue trouble or inconvenience in that
year, however, . had Semmal weakness to an
alarming extent, which was soon followed by.
the most alarming symptuns, as weakness of the
back aad limbs. pain jn the head, dimnese of vis
ion, nervousness and general debility. My mind
tog, was afflicted to such an extent as to serious
ly impairmy memory. my ideas were confused
and spirits depressed, ab was averse -to society,
had evit forebodings and self-distrust. and was
entirely untitted for any of the duties of life.—*
From 1855 tu the summer of 18¢3, . employed the
very best medical tatent I could find, ind spent
several hundred dollars. but in no’ instante obtamed more than temporary relief Chad about
concluded there was no retilef—for.me in this
world, but seeing Dr Doherty's advertisement,
I thought I shouid call and s¢ée him, as hecharg
ed nothing for consultation. I had an interview
with Dr. Doherty, at his office, in Sacramento
street, and his fee fortreatment was so reasonable, 1 determined,to try him, though 1 did not
expect much benetit from his treatment. On the
Sth day of Dec. last I placed myself under ‘his
eure : in one week I found myself very mnch imroved, anti now, after five weeks treat®ent, I
