Advertised Letters. The following letters remain in the Post Office in this city, for the week ending Monday, Dec. 25th, 1871.— Persons inquiring for any of these letters will please say,’ ‘‘advertised:” G. W. Beard, John Byrnes, Dr. L. Cummings, 2, Miss Mary Curtis, N. 8S. Day, Phillip Fay, John Flickenatine, H. M. Frisk, Scott Gibson, Miss Maggie Kinney, David Kirkpatrick, Geo. Killgonen, Henry K. The rush at Banner Bros., on the corner of ad and Pine streets, is unprecedented. . For the past week their sales have been enormous, which is all owing to the fact that they are selling gocds so low that the opportunity is not lost by customers. We sawamancome out of their store yesterday with his arms full of goods, and he informed a bystander that he paid $42 for the lot, and the same goods would cost him $80 at any other stere in the State. Give Banner Bros. a call. ~ J Flooded. During the recent storm the rain spouts which conduct the water from Kidd’s building got stopped, and some two feet of water accumulated on the roof. It is suggested that the owners of the buildiug will have their property entered by the Commissioner as swamp and overflowed lands if the spouts are net kept open. Snow But little snow has fallen in the mountains during the recent storm. Mr. .Moore, who came down from _ Washington on Monday, informs us the snow was only ten inches deep at Skillman’s, and it is usually deeper there than at any part on the ridge. ‘Thanks. Rev. E. Halleday presenta. his grateful acknowledgments to his numerous friends in this city, and in Gold Flat, for their handsome .remembrance of him, and especially _ forthe terms of kindness and high appreciation by which they enhanced the value of their gifts, of a splendid album and a purse of $100 in gold. Ifthere bea weak spot in either, the chilling damps, the malarious fogs, the varieties of temperature that mark the commencement of the Winter season are sure to findit. There are few systems that have not a weak spot somewhere, and the wisest thing that any manor woman cah do is to fortify it by a course of Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters, and thus keep the enemy at bay.
