Brother Jonathan Clark was seen!
upon eur streets yesterday, looking

Geo, Fletcher, the Secretary of

town yesterday. He thinks twenty
days fine weather will show what a
railroad running imto Grass, Valley

Christmas is cuming, and purse

"V. G, Bell, aceompanied by his
nephew, J. V. Bell, who bas recently
come from the East on a visit to this
coast. Mr. Bell is a mémber of the
art preservative, and ‘expects to enjoy our climate as long as conditions
are favorable.

his patrons the fattest and juiciest
oysters to be had in the State, and
that he can serve them up in every,
’ style to suit the palate of the most
fastidious, all admit. Give -him ‘a
calland be convinced. The finest

Bel The Railroad,
There are only eighty feet more
to be run to finish the Town ‘Talk
tunnel. Ten or fifteen pleasant
days wilb: see the jobcompleted. Arrangements-have been made by Mr.
Byrne for rushing the work of laying
_track as soon as the weather will
permit. Ties have been contracted
for to be delivered at different points
» 80 asto be ready for the track layers, and other things provided for
rapid work. Some of these fine
mornings people will be awakened
by the whistle of the ‘“‘Nevada” as
