The new time ad babhe for. all. the
has just gone into ‘effect, is made on
the following plan:
The continent is divided into five
sections, the time being one hour—
equal to fifteen degrees—apart.
The first gauge-meridian is the six

through the end of Nova Scotia.
The second is the seventy-fifth,
passing through Peunsylvania.
The third is the ninetieth, passing
through Illinois. The fourth is the one hundred and
fifth, passing almost through Denver.
The fifth ‘is the’one hundred and

Major W. H, Daag gives the following origin of the American custom of turning to the right of the
road: Our ancestors drove oxen,
asausualthing. In diiving an ox
team the driver walks on ths left of
the team, so that he can handle the
goad or whip with his right hand.
In meeting a wagon, each driver
would turn to the right, so that he
could be between bis own oxen and
those of the other wagon.

“of the universal success of
Brown’s Iron Bitters is simply this: It is the best Iron
preparation ever made; is
compounded on thoroughly
scientific, chemical and
medicinal _ principles, and
does just what is claimed for
it—no more and no less,
By thorough and rapid
assimilation with the blood,
it reaches every part of the
system, healing, purifying
and strengthening. Commencing at the foundation
it builds up and restores lost
health—in no other way can
lasting benefit be obtained.79 Dearborn Ave., Chicago, Nov. 7.
