To-Night Every body should hear th® Oratorte to-night. Last night many of: .the péxformers appeared for. the first. Usual-‘ ly, \ with professional. theatricals, the. that will not’ be the case with these ment. There’ will be an. improvement every time the Oratorio is repeated. There are few places on the coast where such a. piece as Esther can be produced.in. so exeellent @ mauner as rendered by those who appeared last evening, The rendering,of the music could. not bé improved anywhere, as all who attended will attest. Those who heard the piece for the first time last night should hear it again to-night. The music and.the plot will be better unond hearing, and we advise ‘all who attended last night to be present again to-night, and. those who were not present should not lose the obpportunity of hearing this most. excellent musical production. Kicked By a Horse, On Thursday last,, Wm. H. Maurehie was kicked by a. horse and.considerably injured. Mr. Murchie started with his wife from: the residence of his brother John,,aud drove over to his father’s on their way to town. They alighted,.and. He received a severe kick. on.the side of the face, and was considerably bruised, but his injuriés are not serious. Dr. Huut was called and dressed the wound. The dash,. tre. board and spring of the buggy were broken, and the vehicle was considerably scratched. Insane. Yesterday morning officer Montgomery brought up Wm.Susma from Grass Valley. te be examined on the charge of insanity. We understand. that Susma, who has a wife and several children in Grass. Valley, came there to livea short time ago. He has been growing worse for some time, and has been a. burden upon . ’ his family who are in destitute circumstances. It is dangerous for him to be out at large and hence his arrest. He was examined yesterday €aldwell, and ordered to Stockton. From the testimony it appears that he has been in this State20 years,, having come from Qhio,. and is 40 years of age. o Social Party. Theodore Schwartz, of Pleasant Valley, annouaces that he will give a Social Party at his house, on Friday evening next, the 13th inst. Everything to make the evening pass pleasantly and contribute to the en-‘ joyment of the guests, has been arranged by Mr. Schwartz. Lovers of ‘daneing will muke a note of it. > Masonic Election. The anunal election of Madison Lodge, No. 23, F. and A. M., Grass Valley, was held on ‘Tuesday evening, when the following persons were elected to serve as officers for the ensuing year: A. Why Endare What is Curable® ‘*What can’t be cured must be endured,” Says the proverb;. but indigestion can be cured, and therefore it is the merest. stupidity to endure it. Dyspeptics have certainly a riglft to continue dyspeptics té theend of their days, if' they choose, but as it is not. supposed that any rational being prefers physical. torment to-ease and healtn, the probability is that if-all sufferers from indigestion were convinced that an absolute, infallible remedy for their complaint existed they would with one accord resorttoit. We most emphatically declare that such a remedy does exist, arid that.ite name is Hostet7 ter’s Stomach. Bitters. The record of its success extends over a period of more than twenty years, and it is fearlessly alleged that during the whole of that time it has never failed to afford permanent relief in any disorder or derangement of. the stomach that Was not organic, malignant, and incurable. The testimonials that go to establish this importaut.fact.can be counted by the thousand. Stomach complaints, that had béen aggravated by a total disregard of all dietary rules, and intensified and rendered chronic by medicina] treatment or drastic purga” tion, have in.hundreds of instances. been cured within three months by.the systematic use of thiscelebrated stomachic and alterative. It should be remembered that weakners of the digestive organs involves many other ailments. Biliousness, headache, ‘nervous debility, spasms, palpitation of the heart, rush of blood to the head, nausea, vertigo, and sleeplessness. are among its concomitants and results; and for all these the great vegetable tonic isa specific. It acts first upon the stomach, and through the stomach upon the secretory ard nervous systems and the bowels, its general effect being always genial and beneficent.BULBS! BULBS. At Eastern Prices!
