Forty-Six Miners Buried.
The burial of forty-six miners who
lost their lives in the recent exploejon ina mine in Crested Butte, Colo:ado, is described by the local
papers asthe most pathetic sight
that has ever been witnessed in. that
neighborhood, A blinding snow
storm was raging on the day on
which the funeral took place, and
the roads were almost’ impassable. :
Nevertheless, the town was crowdeu
with miners and others, The fortysix~ bodies were each placed in
rough, wooden coffins, and then all
were put on fourteen sleighs, and .as
the funeral cavalcade wound: its way
up the bleak mountain side, with five
feet of suow on the ground, and the
flakes flying swift and fast overhead, to the little cemetery in which
the unfortunates were buried, many
a tear trickled down the cheeks of
the sturdy miners who saw it go by.
All the businces places in the little
town were closed that day, and
most of the houses draped in mourving, and the bodies were followed to
their last resting place by the town
officials, citizens, abd miners from
the surrouning country.

A Common Sense View.
When you see a medicine adyertised, and neither know nor cay hear
anything in regard to its reliabitity,
itivan easy matter, by putting
yourself to a little trouble, to ascertain the reputation and ‘standing: of
tne manufacturer, Hind" out who
makes it, How do they stand .at
home? Are they truthful? y eee
they honest ?. Do they pay their
debts? Do they know anything
about medicine and ‘its effects? If
tWey are waiting in any of these, it
ie eafer to let their product alone; for
in preparing drugs, more than any
other business, there is the opportanity to cheapen and adalteraté, and
the only guargntee is the honesty of
the manufacturer, and it does not
look reasonable that the proprietos
of Ammen’s Cough Syrup would be
willing to let a remedy bear his name
did he not know its worth,
