The ground is in niany places so wet that no work can be done. A few more pleasant days will give the quartz miners a ' show. The'interest in this branch of mining has not abated one whit, and when operations afe resumed, new discoveries and developments will be made. ; er RETURNED.—Felix Gillett, an oldNevadan, has‘returned to this city again, after—a year’s visit to France. During his stay in his native country, he wrote some very. interesting letters to the Sacramento Union. He showed that he was-atrue—friend of the Government, and stood up manfully for it in . The lead is located on Bear river, is large, and we have no doubt that it will pay a large amount when opened. an To GuNsmirus.—Z. -P, Davis, of this éity, advertises in to-day’s paper for a. good workman at gunsmithing. A workman in this trade can find steady employnient and good wages. ‘ ‘ ce SoME CLEAN UP.—The Union Co. cleaned up yesterdry, after a weeks run, and took out $8,640 in gold. This is a new lead, which has only heen worked.a_few—months. It-is on Little Deer Creek, a short distance from town,.and.appenrs to.have an inex___haustable supply of the same kind’of rock as-. sthat crushed during-the past week. BoarD oF Surervisors.—The Board of Supervisors will meet at their new quarters in the Court House, to-morrow. __At this term the business of the year will bé closed up, and taxes levied for the coming year.
