Sheriff Pool of Placer, put two men upon
his track. These detectives “got.inwith .

Forest Hill stage yesterday morning. The
ley robbery, and informed them that he
was the man whose mask fcll off. Having
obtained these admissions, Bonher was arrested by Sheriff Pool, and a telegram sent
to Sheriff Gentry, who immediately dis.
patched Steve Venard for the prisoner.—
The prisoner isa large, square-shouldered,
strong-framed man, and is able to endure
a good deal of hard service. The robbers
were tracked the day after the robbery for
a long distance by Grass Valley officers,
and were seen by a number of persons
whose places they passed. We think that
Mr. Snyder will find a very strong case
against him,
Sap News.—On Monday evening last,
John Stidger of North San Juan, received
intelligence of the death of his son, a
young man of twenty-three years, at Columbiana, Ohio. Mr. Stidger received a letter from his boy by the mail on Monday,
which brought him intelligence that he
was well. , In the evening he sat down for
the purpose of answering the letter. . He
had not written a page before a telegram
that his son had been killed on the railroad. Deceased: was conductor on an express train running out of Chicago. He
enlisted.in the Union army early in the
Sherman in the march through Georgia
and participated in twenty-one battles.

THE ConcrerT.—The concert of Edmonds and Bussenius will take placeat the
Theatre in this city, to-night. These gentlemen will be assisted by the musical and
dramatic talent of this city, and for the
dance the best niusic in the county has
been secured. The lower floor of the
Theatre has been put in excellent condition for dancing. We predict that the
entertainment will be the most interesting given in this city for a long time.—
The box office is in the charge of Bill DaVidson at the National Exchange Hotel,
and seats may be secured of him without
