members have created new places, and
attaches have been increased, until they
have a.corps almost as large as the Legislatare. We have a bill for a Commis
sioner Of Railroads, a State Hospital
bill, a Preparatory School to the University, a Land Agent, a Printing bill,
the Fee and Salary bill, a bill to re-dis
trict the State, anda score of others, all
looking to advancing party interests or
making place for party leeches. Money
has been contributed lavishly for these
purposes. There would be'no oljection
to this course, if the Democrats paid for
this party business, bu: the State is
being heavily taxed for this parpose.

Another Suit.
The authorities of Sierra have commenced suit against the North Bioomfield Mining Co. for delinquent taxes of
last year. This Company's property is
claimed by Nevada and Sierra, and a
suit is now pending in the Coarts of
Sierra county to test the question as to
which county is entitled to the taxes
from the Company, based on a suit for
taxes of 1868, which were paid by the
Company in Nevada coanty. During
the pending of the suit, it would seem
that Sierra ought to wait until thecase
was decided, before entering upon
another suit for the same purpose. The
North Bloomfield Company is ready to
pay its taxes without suit, so soon
as the Courts decide. -where_it_shall.

__ While this is ‘being done by the Legis .
lature, the industries of the State are
languishing under an unjust system of
taxation, and many important measures
are neglected. The people are tired of
this eternal fight for party, and they
have a to demand that it cease,
since it is all directed to the
multiplication of places, and the voting
of public money, in order to satisfy the
Democratic craving for effice.

The Call says: “Strong exertions aré
being made to raise money to construct

A railroad is greatly needed leading

Marysville. Indeed, much of the real
estate would increase fifty per cent. in
value, the moment it was understood a
railroad would be constructed,”
