The English Company commenced
washing in their diggings on Badger
Hill recently. For the past. two. or
three weeks workmen have been engaged in putting things in order,

Carson Saturday described & plot to
abduct Fair. wo men, he says,
came to his house when Fair was in
Candelaria and said they wanted to
capture the bonanza candidate and
hold him for half a -million—dollars’s
ransom or kil him. It is thought
they would have killed him in any
event, Whilethey were speaking
Fair ceme up vith three men and
Aurora. He drove with an escort
overawed by the size-of--the party. .
Pyle says that it was lucky for him
that the men saw Fair exhibit the
dispatch, as: théy would otherwise
have suspected him of putting the
the candidate on his guard and
would have killed him. We suspect
this yarn is a big pile of nonseusc.
