Law.—At the late term of the District
Court for Amador county, fifty-eight percomparing the names of the applicants with
the poll list for Jackson precinct, as returned at the September election, twenty-five of
these applicanta were found thereon us having voted, and it is believed the reat voted
at. other precincts. The. Democrats of
Amador got all these illegal votes, and2s6
they-are bitterly opposed tu a registry law,
‘inasmuchas it would prevent villains frou
enacting petit treason in fuver of their party, by corrupting the-ballot box: -A registry
law is very unconstitutional in the eyes of a
‘Democrat.
