SLEIGHING. — Yesterday miabing the
ound was covered with snow to the-depth~of four inches; and at an early hour every
thing which: could be~fitted upon runners
_was culled into requisition. Sleighs of every description, from a six lierse sled toa
dry goods box on runners, glided up and
down the streets. A, party of ten started . :
~ for Grass Valley in a six horse sleigh, driven
by Hank Place. This was‘about the heavi.
est load for the number we ever saw. The .
ten wonld average two hundred pounds
each. Judge Fowler, of Muryevillé; ‘and
“Blaze,” oceupied the back seat. The town
preseuted, quite a lively appearance until
about 2 o ‘cloek, by which tiiié thesnow had
become soft and “slushy.” The sleighing
from the top of the hill on the Washingtun

understand that a party of gentlemen are

Hunnefauth’s and a dance.
