The bank at the face of the diggings is 300 feet high, making the use of large quantities of powder a positive necessity. 35 or 40 white men are employed in the Blue Point mine. By the way, there is a very: stong anti-Chinese sentiment prevailing at Smartsville, Sucker Flat, Timbuctoo . and Mooney Flat. The mining companies there believe in white labor, and the miners are not inclined to tolerate competition with Chinese ehedp labor.—*, «'.
