John A.” Lancaster . en yesterday marched out to the . old shooting ground on the Red Dog road, ’ for the purpose of engaging in target. prac: tice. . the fact that no regular order was ‘issued, The boys presented a good appearance ‘and went _sthrough the evolutions like veterans. The target was a full sized Indian, ‘atid: was painted with great taste by one of.the Company—Lieut. Stout. When ‘the Company marched back to town the large number of bullet holes. near the centre of the ‘target evidenced the accuracy of the shoot. ‘ing. The Company did weil. The best single shot was made by D. J. “Haven, 2d, N. W. Know Iton. 3d, °C. C. Taft. _ The best string of three shots was made by James Hackley. 2d,-C. C.Taft. 3d, John A. Lancaster. 5th, )D. J.
